Heart of town

Newark-on-Trent is an historic market town on the river Trent north of the county of Nottinghamshire, England – home of amongst other things the legend of Robin Hood. We offer visitors a wealth of history, interesting buildings and museums.

The Buttermarket is situated in the heart of the town centre and can be accessed via; Middlegate, Chain Lane and Market Place, up the steps as part of Newark Town Hall.

Middlegate and Chain Lane are both of these entrances are fully accessible.
