The Buttermarket has enjoyed a long and varied history and has always been at the heart of Newark-on-Trent’s commercial activity.
The shopping centre offers a diverse range of quality independent outlets and well known retail names. Comprising of 28 individual retail units over two floors, including a first floor café and restaurant.
The Buttermarket enjoys dedicated security and a full time Centre Manager based on site who are always available to help.
Housed in a historic building that in some parts dates back to 1776, The Buttermarket is located in the heart of Newark town centre.
The main entrance is accessible from the cobbled market place beneath the Georgian Town Hall, with other entrances on Middlegate and Chain Lane.
Newark market place is one of the largest cobbled squares in the country and provides a backdrop to many interesting architectural gems. The town has a diverse retail mix, with a large number of independent stores plus a growing number of high street brands.
